  The police in Lagos have arrested an 18-year-old barber, Bakare Ismail, for allegedly defiling his neighbour, a 14-year-old girl. Ismail had reportedly lured the girl, Bidemi (pseudonym), to his parents’ residence on Banjo Street, Owutu in the Ikorodu area of the state on Saturday, October 13, around 4pm. While the victim was seated, Ismail allegedly offered her a soft drink laced with a sedative. She was said to have slept off minutes after taking the drink. Saturday PUNCH leant that the suspect had sex with Bidemi, who reportedly woke up to find bloodstains on her pants. The incident was reported at the Gender Section of the Lagos State Police Command headquarters in Ikeja. The victim told the police that she was running an errand for her aunt when Ismail, who lives in the next compound, approached her and demanded to have a talk with her. The world has been left marveled after a painting of Jesus Christ miraculously survived when a church went up in flames following a lighting that struck. The 150-year-old church collapsed when a Lightning struck the 180-foot steeple of the First Baptist Church in Wakefield, Massachusetts, Wednesday night as severe storms rolled through the area, setting the church afire and nearly burning it to the ground by morning, ABC reported. Images show the roof of the structure burnt almost all the way through. Most of the items inside the church, home to community meetings and a preschool, were destroyed, including “a lot of beautiful musical instruments,” church moderator Melinda Parry told WCVB. But, not all was lost. Somehow, a large portrait of Jesus Christ set on a cloudy blue background survived the blaze intact. A 24year old woman has been arrested the Ugandan Police for allegedly slashing her set-to-be husband’s Manhood in his sleep in Wantoni, Mukono Municipality. According to the Police the woman Rehema Kabayana was told that he husband Anthony Sekawa ,28, was having an affair with another woman in the neighbourhood. She then waited for him to fall asleep and she cut off his joystick from its base using a four- inch knife. The incident took place in their home. Sekawa has been transferred to a hospital in Kampala where he is receiving treatment. He was rushed to the hospital by a neighbour who heard his scream. Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire confirmed that Mukono Police had received a report on the incident. He said team had already visited Sekawa’s home to gather evidence. The suspect is being detained at Mukono Police station on charges of attempted murder.

A six-year-old girl is alleged to have been sexually assaulted by two seven-year-old boys in a school in Australia just after they watched porn on their phones, local media reports. Despite claims the assault was of “high-level”, the police at the time failed to carry out appropriate investigations because the accused were minors under 10. Cyber-safety expert Susan McLean, who runs workshops for schools across the country, spoke to the mother of the alleged victim. She blasted the school for failing to report the incident when it happened in the middle of last year, according to the Weekend Australian.
